Internationally renowned Iranian director Majid Majidi attends a screening session of 'The Warden' at ongoing Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
The director who is an international figure hailing from Iranian cinema with award-winning titles such as his latest 'Beyond the Clouds' joined the Fajr fest screening of Nima Javidi's new offering held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
Produced by Majid Motalebi, the film follows an old prison in late-1960s southern Iran to be evacuated as it is close to the city’s airport which is under development. The head of the prison, Major Nemat Jahed, and his officers are in the midst of transferring the prisoners to the new facility.
‘The Warden’ features Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Atila Pesyani, Setareh Pesyani, Habib Rezaee and Mani Haqiqi.
Majidi has also directed religious blockbuster ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ (2015) which enjoys domestic and international cast and crew.
His latest 'Beyond the Clouds' was shot in India and screened at international theaters.
The 37th Fajr Int'l Film Festival kicked off on January 30th and is set to wrap up on February 11, 2019.
